Bringing Together the Community Mosaic. In November last year a group of people from the district came together to reflect on the very special environment in which we live. The intention was to encourage each person to produce a small canvass representing their perspectives on their environment. The idea was that it would be a "view from our window" as it were. We were fortunate to have Janet Fogarty of the Flour Mill Gallery, Euroa, who gave us many suggestions as to technique and possible materials.
Participants are encouraged to complete their canvases so that we can meet together on Saturday July 5th to share our work. The meeting will begin with morning tea on the Deck of the Highlands Community Hall at 10.30am. It is planned to conclude the gathering around 12.30pm
It will also be an opportunity to discuss how the final canvases will be assembled and displayed.
Everyone in the community is welcome to attend, even if you have not done a canvas. Those wishing to participate, but do not have a canvas should contact Marcia on 5796 9256 or Stuart on 5796 9358. |
