Guidelines for Exhibitors 2010
The preparation of the Exhibition Catalogue and Artist’s Profile Folio depends greatly on Exhibitors co-operation with regard to the following Guidelines.1. The Application form, plus Artist’s Profile and Exhibitor Fee ($5 per item) needs to be in the hands of the Exhibition Registrar no later than Monday 1st February 2010. Credit card payments can be phoned to Stuart Reid 5796 9358 Cheques are to be made out to Highlands Arts Experience.
2. The Exhibitor Fee applies to each exhibit. In multiple exhibits where the separate items can be sold separately for more than $200, each item requires a fee. Where a multiple exhibit is to be sold as a unit, then only one fee is required. The organisers may negotiate different arrangements in special cases.
3. Please supply all paintings, photographs etc. in an appropriate frame ready for hanging, including hanging wire or cord.
4. On receiving the Application including fee, the organisers will provide a Exhibitor’s Receipt and Collection Receipt. It would be appreciated if this Receipt could be brought with the exhibit. See item 6 below.
5. 15% of the sale price of exhibits sold is to be retained by Highlands Arts Experience. HiArts undertakes to pay artists for items sold within 30 days of the conclusion of the Exhibition.
6. All items must be in the hands of the curators at the Highlands Hall no later than 5pm on Sunday 21st February 2010. The Hall will be open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st February to receive exhibits. Any special delivery arrangements need to be made with the Registrar prior to this weekend. There is no guarantee that late entries will be exhibited.
7. Artists are asked to retain any packaging material.
8. Artists or their representatives will be responsible for collecting their work between 4.30 and 6.pm on Sunday 28th February 2010. Proof of identity may be asked for.
9. As there is no formal insurance cover for items on display, the organisers will do all they can to ensure appropriate care and security, but responsibility for loss or damage while in transit or on exhibition lies with the exhibitor.
10. All exhibits must be by living artists. Items will not be exhibited if they have appeared at a previous HiArts Exhibition. Each artist is limited to four items in the exhibition.
11. The curators reserve the right to use their discretion when selecting items for display.
12. Where items are provided but not displayed, then a refund of the Exhibit Fee will be forwarded within 30 days of the conclusion of the Exhibition.
13. HiArts reserves the right to reproduce art work for the purpose of publicity and promotion of the Exhibition, use on the website, education purposes, preparation of catalogue and sale of art work, unless otherwise indicated by the artist. (cf. Notice of Intention to Exhibit form).
14. Special Photographic Section: A section of the Exhibition will be set aside in 2010 for photographs that portray scenery and images around the Highlands/Caveat district. Photographs do not need to be framed, but require a hard or cardboard backing.
